McCarthy was off and on for us (Leigh) last year IMO he's a good player but his mind seemed elsewhere (understandably) when he got back into Warringtond first team and the games he plaed for us after that were OK but just that.
He has played two for us this season last week at Barrow he had a good game and yesterday against Widnes when he had a very good game playing the full 80 mins, he has bulked up a little and has been playing in the front row but TBH he is more of a second row size and that may be his failing at SL level, anway that is just my opinion both games he has played for us are shown in full at the links below if you have a couple of hours and there being zilch on TV.
Don't expect a world beater in Tyrone but he is a good honest forward with a nice litle offload, i'd have him back in my team in a shot.

sorry the quality aint that brill but it's the compression ratio needed to get a full game on the internet for 'nowt'. |

The man with no name would be good of course, but you'd have to make sure he fits into the current team "style". We need people who will work hard for the team as well as just bring skills. I'd love it to happen though.
McCarthy: I've seen a few times and like him. We need an extra back row to give the Mariano, Howarth and Morrison a breather occassionally, Would be a good addition imo.
Higgins: Haven't actually seen any announcement about him. Is it rumour or is this actually happening? Need some extra beef so can't hurt. Don't know how good he is now though.

Liam Higgins went well for us over the last few years, he isn't a superstar but he is an honest grafter can't remember ever watching a game and coming away thinking he had been lazy of hiding.
If he signs for you he will be a workhorse for you
