Agreed but he isnt good enough to play at half back in SL, so that was kears fault.
Lee could have gone into the halves or Howarth could have played stand off. |

There does seem to be a trend in having lots of small men in the 17 which baffles me.
We used to have Latu, Obst, Drew, Brough, Rooney
Now we have, Obst, Lee, Rinaldi, Hyde, with Smith & Jeffries to come in at some stage.

The problem is Kear will always split the fans into opposing camps with quite a few saying for ages it was time for him to go for the reasons you mention above amongst others, whilst there seems to be an equal proportion happy to let him carry on because of what he has done in the past and because they feel we cant get anyone better. IF we go down we could do worse than Glenn Morrison. IF we stay up is Brian Noble employed yet? I do like John Kear but I think he has got stale & we need a new broom. Would Nobby be up for saving yet another club?  |

And, outside of passion and pride, where are we looking for his skills in coaching a defence etc. as he certainly wasn't able to practice it on the pitch last year. |

Think that is a bit harsh after the good years of service and hard graft that he gave to base it on his last year with us,everybody knows in 99% of games he gave everything.Also where is jk's teaching of defence? |

I'm not basing not making him head coach based just on his last year playing, I'm basing it on the fact he has no track record as a coach! The problem this club has had for years is rating 'years of service' and 'hard graft' above ability to do a job. |

Yes, whoever recruits the next coach at trinity, they have to look at the style of play he's got his team currently playing and the defensive structures he uses etc. It is essential they get a modern 'thinking' RL coach. |

No it's not harsh. You can't possibly think JD is ready to coach a SL or even a NL1 team for that matter. Where is his experience, his learning curve etc etc, come on. As for passion, I have passion for the club but you wouldn't want me coaching would you? |
