| Quote frogcat="frogcat"Quote frogcat="Chief Stinkwort"You started really well there, until you got to the last sentence which is to put it mildly, completely ludicrous.
JP has been named best forward in the world twice in a row ('no worldbeater'?)
He's made the Superleague dream team for all but 3 of the last 11 years, captained the national team for many years and won more Championship rings than any other player.
He's also won every other domestic trophy on offer and a has a couple of WCCs to boot.
Talk to any discerning Leeds fan and they'll tell you he's one of most influential players the club has ever signed.
That may be pretty ordinary to you, but I suspect your in a pretty tiny minority.
If I wanted to find a single word to sum the guy up it would probably be...
...LEGEND'" bloody legend. no where near mate.good bloke, decent player. over-rated for the past 2 seasons. time he retired completely from international game and gave better players that are waiting in the wings their chance. when he is not training because his knees are so bad. then he should know its time. but legend mate ,no chance'"
If Jamie Peacock had been made a free agent this season you would have shown interest, but alas you well know you wouldnt have much chance of getting him.

A bit childish and not really necessary, don't you think?

What I am saying is this Jmie Peacock is a recognised great of the sport of rugby league and that translates to "legend",but because he plays for Leeds some people who are Wakefield fans dont accept this ,because he plays for Leeds and that is what I call childish

One person objected to the term 'legend,' which is oft-debated on here as being a term that is over-used in the modern game; there wasn't really any need to fire back with childish digs at our club in my view. Two wrongs don't make a right, and all that shizzle.

He did have a point though.
He was replying to a point that represents a tiny minority on this thread and I'm sure amongst Wakey fans in general. That point, I suspect, (unless the poster is a complete moron), was motivated by blind fanaticism and a 'hate thy big-city neighbour' attitude that undoubtedly exists among some Wakey fans. In view of this I think Lionarmour is entitled to throw the attitude back at him.

He certainly is entitled, I just don't see the point of resurrecting a dead thread for the sake of making puerile comments in defence of a player who seems universally respected, if not adored, which is after all not compulsory.

| Just to add my bit:
1 Peacock is undoubtedly a great of the modern game. As said, legend is often over used and could be a legend at Leeds without being a legend of the game. Personally I think he will be regarded that way across most but you usually need a memorable incident to cement that, like tries at Wembley or playing broken arm against Aussies.
Can't think of Peacocks but he has done a lot of good things so will be recognised by those who know.
2 Happy for Leeds fans to post here even if it has a hint of patronisation
3 Don't big yourself up too much. We are quite capable of bitching with any of our neighbours. Leeds being the big neighbour is not a problem to us. Some have a high and mighty attitude and it is irritating......but just as many of ours have a chip on the shoulder so the rest of us should probably leave them to it and not tar all of each others fans the same.

| Heard Jamie Peacock say during an interview that as a youngster he was with Wakey but 'that didn't work out' - Seems we missed out big style there!

| He is a current great in Super League.
His playing record/stats stand up next to any of the old school legends. Sometimes people for some reason dont like to think that current players are as good as the ones that have played previously?? I am 100% certain that when he has been retired 5 or 10 years he will be known as 'Rugby League Legend Jamie Peacock'
I cant think of many better British props in the last 30 years. Ward (legend) & Morley (future legend) maybe, other than that????
That and his list of honours surely makes him a legend of the modern game atleast.
