lol, the SL Season is boring enough without Relegation, nevermind reducing the number of playoff teams.



Super league would have been sorted weeks ago and Wakey would have had no motivation to go on the run they had without a playoff place to fight for.

Would have a top 4 then let the next 4 play for a plate final. You could have a double header on grand final day or let the plate final be played elswhere on a different day. If we strip it down to 4 or six with rest having nothing to go for this may put fans off all together.

I would imagine the point of a top 8 play-off is to give those clubs who are building towards success something to aspire to; yet another 'snap-shot in time' opinion, from the same school of thought that advocates reducing the number of teams in SL.

If we were all as good as the mighty Warrington none of us would worry. He needs to be realistic the same warrington we only lost to because the Ref couldnňt count to 7. May aswell make the league of 5 teams then as they are so mighty and wont get a game off teams outside the top 5.

There's nothing wrong with the play off system that is now in place it benefits the teams that finish in the top 4 and win their first game, also brings in revenue to the lower clubs like us that finish in 5 to 8.



the problem for me is the emphasis on finishing top of the league after the 27 rounds has lost its appeal as clubs then start to prepare for the knock out play offs.

This needs to be the main aim and would need better sponsorship to entice clubs to put the effort in.

Playing soft teams the week before the Challenge cup final or resting large amount of players should be monitored and dealt with accordingly as its an insult to the paying fan.

Why not fetch a new type of knock out cup competition in similar to the challenge cup which involves all championship and amateur clubs with super league clubs playing at the new under 19s.

The play-off system is OK as it is. Change it to top 5 then we create a raft of meaningless fixtures from mid season onwards. Can,t agree with a plate competition either, the dream is to win Super League not a micky mouse consolation trophy.

Fev under 23's would wipe the floor with probably every superleague u19's teams. theres already a decent cup competition for championship teams.

I preferred the top six formula, but would only work if they brought back relegation. Don't think there is a need to exempt anyone. We stayed up. Huddersfield stayed up. Hull KR stayed up. There shouldn't be any criteria for coming up. Everyone should have their place in the sun, and should maybe have a parachute payment, like in football.



Having said that, there seems to be a lot of good youngsters coming through, and so maybe we are starting to see the benefits of franchising.

Although I would agree that the game does need a pinnacle, there is something that is not right when a team finishing below the halfway mark in the league could be crowned champions.

Ok this hasn't happened in SL history but, we have had a team finishing 5th declared the best team of 2012 and they clearly weren't THE best team of that season.

Personally I would prefer just going back to the old top 8 system, 1 plays 8, 2 plays 7 and so on. No second bite of the cherry, no club call, just straightforward knock out matches. That way every match would mean something.
