rumours Hull are offering Shaul out to clubs - and tempted to offer a contract to Hampshire if Shaul does go elsewhere. Would be good business for Hull - Shaul is a specialist 1, who isn't going to be 1st choice, so if we can get RH his utility value would be great

I want Hampshire to stay but we do seem to be in the situation again (if the rumours are true) that he wants more than the ciub think he is worth.

I don't know and those negotiations are not my business anyway.

Rocky is an enigma. I personally don't see him as starting FB or half back - form of others may change that of course, BUT his utility quality is priceless.

I hope it gets sorted and he stays.

This of course may have nothing to do with Hampshire, maybe WP has different ideas, although he didn’t seem shy in playing the lad.

Rocky must be one of the most regular good performers in the team. Think he covered 5 positions and scored from all but one.

Don't think CC helped in his development tbh but he should in my view be given an opportunity for the next couple of seasons.

Key players spent quite a few matches on the side lines and cover should be a priority.

As a utility player, he is worth less than the first choice in whatever position he can fill in for, which is probably the part that is frustrating for him. I imagine he sees himself as the best half-back or the best full back at the club and should be first choice, and getting a first choice salary. Those in the know, the coaches, seem to think otherwise.



The hard part for him must be the fact that he is only just not as good as the first choice, almost on a par.

I’m sure I will get shot down in flames but I’m going to stick my neck out and say that I hope we don’t offer him a deal. Not a criticism of him but he clearly would be a utility player covering FB, both half back positions and outside backs at a push. However, like it or not we have that player now in Gaskell. If I’m honest Rocky frustrates me as a player. He’s ok at FB but nowhere near Jowett and as a half back I feel he runs the other backs out of the game too often.



Obviously I don’t know for sure but I felt that when the CEO said at one of the online forums that he had made a mistake signing a player last year and succumbed to pressure from the fans, I felt he was talking about Ryan. So could well be wrong but I’d be surprised if we signed him. No idea as to whether we’ve offered him anything but it seems like the repeat from last year where we were all wondering if he was staying or going. So IMO it suggests we haven’t offered or he thinks he’s worth more.

I doubt it was Hampshire because he had a two year contract.
