I'd say we're in a position of beggars can't be choosers. If someone wants to come and pay to watch Wakefield then I don't care who they've supported in the past, their money is as good as anyone's.

No its not, they are not supporters of any club they are glory hunters !

When things are not going there way then they are the ones slagging the team off in there local pub and work place . You can do without pee pots like them.

I'm just hoping they still have hoodies left at the end of the month when I get paid anyone any ideas what the sizes are like

I don't mind casuals or people who pick and chose games or teams they wish to watch. Those people are welcome to BV any day.



A turncoat is a completely different beast, they are simply pond life. We may only be talking RL here but I think it tells you all you need to know about them as people and every impulse you have should tell you to give them a wide birth.



I just don't think it's possible to change support and the fact that they can do it shows they were never true supporters of their old club nor will they be of their new one. I wouldn't have them back at any cost but that's just me I suppose. Hell i don't even like belly complimenting Cas. I don't like cas fans generally but I don't hate them, but I do turncoats or quizlings as I like to call them.

Providing they turn up pay £20 quid I don't care. I do remember a lot of bull stickers on cars in and around the wakefield area they did a very good job of marketing the area .

When it matters to me is when a business from the area takes to promotiing or advertising another club. I notice a certain carpet company constantly advertising in the express with the giants squad in the promotion. I would never contemplate buying a carpet from them.

The club needs all the support it can get and will not give two hoots what club they have supported in the past and neither should we

Anyone who wants to put their £20+ into the Trinity coffers should be welcomed with open arms.

From all the cars in Wakefield that started "trimming up" with Bulls flags or Rhinos stuff, we'll have them down at BV.

Of course there are glory supporters who change their team every other year but, lets face it, most people have said that our support will increase if we have some on field success.

Where do we think these fans are now ?

Sure, some are "dormant" fans who may have stopped coming but, many will be "glory hunters".

Is anyone seriously suggesting that we should turn them away ?

What we need to do is, ensure that coming to BV is a good afternoon out and that they may want to come back.



Eventually, they will be hooked and even when things take a turn for the worse, which they often do, some of them may still be coming.



Also, as one of the few clubs still playing on Sunday afternoons, we should be advertising the fact that we will often be the only SL game taking place in Yorkshire.

We need all the funding we can get so in that sense I couldn't care less whether people see the light switch to Trinity from another team! Having said that they could disappear just as quickly as they arrived so again it's not really building a solid support base to help sustain the club long term.

Back to merchandise, best we've had for quality selection and looks good, spoilt for choice.



Up the Trin

Then whats the point in being proud of your club and where does it stop.

But does it really matter though? If we had a bit of success and 1000 glory supporters turned up we'd be far more likely to sustain that success. Personally I'd be far too busy enjoying us being successful to care.

Glory supporters and turncoats are not the same thing. One turns up only when we are doing well which is annoying but I accept it. A turncoat has actively supported another club and applauded said club to the rafters when they have beaten us probably in our darkest moments.



That does matter to me and personally I'd neve ever accept them back - parasites like that ultimately destroy clubs because they jump ship when we need them most.



So you may not care now but you sure as hell will later down the line.

Who cares, just because we couldn't swap our teams at will doesn't mean anyone else can't. It's bizarre to me but their cash is as good as ours when it comes to running the club.
