Yes the Championship is a disaster for future planning, didnt seem to bother the Board and fans of Wakefield when the club voted to accept the current franchise system that it was a disaster for clubs stuck in the championship. It didnt seem to bother anyone involved with Wakey after gaining promotion in 98 to then vote to stop P+R either, there will be little sympathy for the plight of Wakefield im afraid

I don't know if that was the circumstances at the time (98 onwards), but in 2008 I argued strongly against the franchise system and the unfairness of it and a few other Wakey fans on here did. I don’t think the feeling amongst most Wakey fans was of support for the system, at least most I talk to was never in favour of it. It's just a case of a lot of us been more vocal in our opposition now that we are directly affected.

When Wakey went up in 98 they got no money from super league so the then 2nd tier clubs gave Wakey some of there money from the sky contract in return Wakey would stand up for P+R. Wakey took the money and went back on there word voting to stop P+R

We went up in 1998 and P & R stopped in 2008 that's 10 years were c c sides could be promoted. You correct we didn't get full sky money for 2 season which happened to no other club when promoted. Back on topic anyway I sure I read NM would be 12k minimum or 15k if the community trust had enough funds for the corners

Well you're wrong as ever. What division we are in or what crowds we get will not stop Yorkcourt building the Stadium they planned for - they too see long term and they also need it to get planning permission anyway.



You just have to look in a 10 mile radius to see two clubs who gained new stadiums when they and their partner clubs were not top flight and had gates nowhere near capacity. Doncaster and Huddersfield. Only one out of those four is top flight and none of them hit capacity on anything like a regualra basis. Yet both stadiums were built.

Richardson and the gang may well have, not the fault of the Wakey fans mate.

The whole system of franchise selection has changed. If the chances of us coming back up appear to be slim what need is there to invest in a larger stadium. Just look at Leigh a nice big ground that really is not needed considering the chances of them ever playing SL are slim ( under the present system).

as i see it the plans submitted in the application make belle vue super league standard whereas "the jungle" isnt..so cas's application is flawed...don't really care anymore tho as long as jk leaves...last year catalans and this year cas...how much he must love wakefield!

Yes good point Cas havent got a plan to have a franchise standard stadium in time for next season yet we have how would the RFL explain that one away........
