Saturday's game gives Molloy, Mariano an Mellars a big chance to put themselves top of the list for regular first team selection. Would like to see Mellars back in the centre. A full game from Mariano, and Molloy to play at least an hour.

Of FM I would say that it takes 2 to tango. Perhaps FM does need to up his game, but perhaps also - after a year and a half of being a second choice - he feels a little let down and disconnected from the club / coaching staff? I really don't know. I would also note that there is nothing to suggest or confirm that FM may be leaving - just people putting 2 and 2 together....



Of LW I would note that the kid has issues away from the rugby field which are personal and important to him. I don't think lack of ability comes into it, but perhaps RL is not his immediate priority in life.

No I am not, its a tricky area to be honest. At the top level of any sport you will have disagreement's within the squad and between players and coaches. That on its own is not enough to drop/bench a player. A case point would by the England cricket team and KP. It just seems to me that some players under Agar get a very limited look in, e.g. Mellars and Mariano, Andy Ellis, Steve Southern (did he even actually get a game at second row), Walshaw... While others regardless of performances continue to stay in the first 17.



Oh and Vastman, I use the name 4foxsake as he is one of my sporting heroes, because I am proud that he played for my city's team and quite simply because I like the saying! But in future I will remember to ask your permission.

In a nutshell this.

Hope Mariano pulls up trees this weekend, stays and knuckles down. He has real ability as well as the obvious strength, size and speed for a big bloke. Just not consistent enough at minute. Also hope Molloy is a master piee of a signing although still don't understand it would have preferred another prop like Poore.

I don't think it's an either/or - if we've signed Molloy and are letting someone go to make room, that won't stop us looking to bring in another prop; it may even help, given that Molloy will doubtless be cheaper than either of the players who are rumoured to be on the way out. It might even free up some resource to secure Anakin for example, which seems to be almost universally regarded as a good idea.

Trouble with mariano is he doesn't have the heart or toughness needed. When the going gets tough watch him disappear or skulk off injured. Catalans away this season a prime example. If he had the balls of Cockayne or fox he wouldn't be with us now as he no doubt has great ability and can run some superb lines which combined with his pace and power can make him a devastating attacking player
