Heard today that there is about 8/9 people in to get the club and one of them is Dave Whealen that was wigan's old chairman who as sold jjb so must have money to spend any body else heard owt . dont shoot me down just telling what i have heard .

Would be good if true because he does have money but he doesn't just throw it around stupidly which i think is good so i hope this is true.

He doesnt have any involvement with Wigan RLFC IIRC.

He did sell JJB - DW Sports/Gyms are a separate business.

Not heard this but why would DW be interested in Wakefield when his passion is Wigan Athletic - he's enough on his hands keeping them in the Premier League. He is a football man - I think he played for Blackburn Rovers - and cannot see how or why he would become interested in Rugby League again.

I know mate that's what I mean, why jack that in then take over us. One massive money making club and one that's not, wouldn't make sense

Maybe he fancies a new big challenge!

I don't want us to get a sugar daddy like Ken Davey, i would much rather we got somebody who wants the best for the club and is willing to put money in but not waste it. Iwould be happy if the new backer puts enogh money in which will allow us to keep our best players so we don't have to sell them to raise money to keep the club in business or pay off our tax bills.
