I think we would benefit more from continuity in the spine to be honest. Certainly at 1,6,7 at least. 

Hood looks to be carrying something for over a month now imo. He’s not taking line on close tomorrow the try line and doesn’t look fit to me. When Smith came on we looked markedly faster and more threatening in that 25 minute spell where we almost matched saints. We look better him starting too imo. I think we can afford Russell at 9 this one. 


I’m not into resting the props after 2 weeks off either. Just a few edge forwards imo. 


I can definitely see Scott in the centre. 

There are now questions if it is too dangerous for the Salford players to carry on. If they do cease which would be a shame but being Wakefield centric we don’t lose either way, if they expunge their scores or for those games outstanding or award two points and a 48 points difference we gain.

I haven’t seen anything from the RFL or Salford myself. 


Why can’t they carry on and who is it dangerous to and in what way? 


Losing by a heavy score isn’t dangerous. It doesn’t look good granted but I don’t see many injuries. 

By that reckoning you’d not have any CC games vs part time players or any strong teams playing teams struggling. It’s sport and the risks are known to all players. 


There are a number of SL players in full time squads from Salford and other clubs. There’s not a lot of young players playing either. 


Having only 48 points difference would be negative for trinity with most teams going upwards of that. 


There’s 6 games left. They’ll play them out. And so they should. 

Not sure they could just expunge results and scores for games already played as some teams will have played them three times {eg. Saints} and some twice (eg. Hull}. If they've all won then some teams would lose six points and some four.

Cannot do that due to loop fixtures, it would go back to a % system

Salford will limp through to the end of the season.
But they must fulfil their remaining fixtures due to the SKY tv contract and funding etc.


It's like watching lambs going to the slaughter each week sadly
