It'd be really difficult to replace him. Despite the success of Torres and Gerrard up top, I think we'd have to revert Gerrard back to CM and bring in a forward.
There really isn't many players available that are fit to lace Alonso's boots.
Wonder if Sneijder could play that deep, or would he be the one to play off Torres, if he came? |

Maybe but the problem is bar RVN and Robben any other players from there would be untested in the prem would much rather have just kept Alonso. |

F*ck that. Sign a midfielder and stick to the formation. Gerrard is far too good to play in midfield. Xabi isn't irreplaceable, there are plenty of players out there just as talented, it's just about them adapting and converting that into the PL. |

Thats the problem for me we had a team which was used to the Prem we are now going to bring in untested players they only way I could see this as a positive would be 21mill plus RVN and WS (Even on loan for few seasons) and use the money to bring Silva in. |
