Exactly. Roberts and Fielden's wages have been pretty much dead money for the last two seasons so just tacking either's wedge onto FInch's current deal wouldn't really be missed. Hopefully that will be enough to keep him here. I wouldn't want us to be held to ransom though. He's not THAT good!

FINCH has grown into the Wigan team and we need to make every effort to keep him, he is a quality player who directs the team around the park and organises the side really well BUT we should not be held to ransom by him and pay him silly money He is not in my opinion anywhere near Trent's quality. Trent was a great player in an average side who would have won every individual honour if the press hadn't gifted it to Roby, his fellow professionals thought he was the best and so did everybody else, one of the biggest miscarriages to give to someone who only played off the bench for most of the season. TRENT was the best 6 we have had since the great Brett KENNY, with him in this team behind our dominant pack we would be unstoppable!

Losing Finch would be disappointing but not crucial if Tommy was staying. Losing both the year the NRL's salary cap goes up with very few decent options over here would be devastating IMO, GET HIM SIGNED UP!

Trent Barrett was a very very good player. However, he picked and chose his games in my opinion. He ripped the lesser sides to pieces but rarely played well in the big games.

unfortunately Trent isn't in this team at this time. We are losing Tommy already and if we have to pay the market price to retain Brett then that is what we have to do. It will be damn hard to try finding 1 half back that can slot into this current side without a bit of disruption, losing both and finding 2 will be nigh on impossible...

I agree. I can't see Finch rejecting an offer from you lot. At the minute you are the top side and he seems to be enjoying his rugby. There are rumours that we are in for him with a 3 year offer but I can't see any truth in that unless we have miraculously found someone to take Hohaia off our hands.

I think it is just pure speculation and he'll stay with Wigan, unfortunately!!

I have just posted on our board that any Saints fan saying Finch isn't that good is very biased. He is quality and is exactly what we need at the minute.

Lol hes 20 times better than Lance Hohaia who they signed he couldn't get in the Westhoughton second team.
