Up until 2008/2009 Superleague teams were limited on what they could spend dependant on turnover (50%), and then of course there were teams using offshore accounts, EBT's etc
To say that it wasn't a level playing field prior to 1996 is ridiculous, teams had the choice of what they wanted to spend, just like most other major sports.
People have a choice to spend up the max on their credit cards or keep in the black, it's their choice.
Since we the start of Superleague there has only been 4 winners of SL and 5 finalists.'"

Really? So between 1895 and 1996 there wasn't a level playing field? And if there was a bias to Wigan in this time how do you explain 1980? |

Last time I looked we had won 19 leagues, 18 cups and 3 world club challenges. If someone has won more then please let me know who.
Did Saints only win the double in 2006? I could have swore they said they'd won the treble.
Of course the LLS is worthless but there are 3 trophies up for grabs and Wigan as a club want to win all 3. |
