| Quote Rogues Gallery="Rogues Gallery"Just a point, five of the six Wigan lads (Tierney, Burgess, Hampshire, Williams and Sutton) who played V France U18's are all first year U18's i.e. still only 16 or 17 years of age.
Only Connor Farrell was second year.
The frightening thing is that this years Wigan U16's are an even better squad.
There is a LOT of work going on below the surface at Wigan.'"
Thanks for that Rogues, its nice to know that Wigan have so many young uns coming through. I have noticed during my time coming on this site that you post more things about the young players than anything appertaining to the first team, which is nice to see that us owduns are kept informed.
I see that the 9s is a 5pm kick off on Tuesday,I hope to get up there.

At the time this was supposed to be happening Myler was actually living with his tv personality girlfriend, amazingly everybody who claimed to know all about Myler's private life knew nothing about his celebrity girlfriend.
HTH as always.'"
Just the rumour I read on here.
Nice to see that you think 'tv personality' and 'celebrity' are a badge of honour. Says a lot about you.

And that's why moving SOL to the halves will be the best option, at least for the time being.
Faz can do a first rate job covering at 13.

| Quote Rogues Gallery="Rogues Gallery"I wonder if Wane will risk them before the end of the season. The U18's touring team to Australia gets picked next week and I think leaves in early July. They will be away for around three or four weeks so it'll probably be August before either Hampshire or Williams are available (I'm assuming they make the tour squad and will be very surprised if they don't)
Hampshire really looks a class player, pace, evasiveness, good organiser and an excellent goalkicker, but at 17 it would be huge step up.
Williams is a little further ahead physically. I'm not sure yet if he will be a 7 or 9 but he looks a very good prospect.
I think they along with Burgess may get a game in the nines at Orrell on Tuesday (5 p.m. kick off)'"
i look forward to seeing this lad Hampshire play Bri, i remember you telling me about him many years ago when he was a toddler..

| Quote NickyKiss="NickyKiss"If it's 10 weeks only then there's no point signing anybody who'd be cup tied. We'd probably have to be looking at the NRL for a short term fix if they did want to bring somebody in.
I think they'll just stick Lockers in at 6 and give Farrell the loose forward shirt. That would open up a fulltime spot on the bench for Jack Hughes and his form probably deserves that.'"

| Personally I think Mellor needs to be given a chance as I dont think Powell is due to return yet. We have time to build a partnership and allow it to gel before any potential wembley appearance so give the lad a chance and promote from within. As a second option I would prefer to see Russell brought back from Hull to play at 1 and slide Sam into the halves. IMO that will work better than SOL going to 6.

I'm with you. Powell is due back at any time now. Mellor should get the first crack and if he doesn't grab his opportunity then Powell should be promoted when he has gained match fitness.

| I'd give Mellor a go for the next couple of games. He can't bomb that bad against Widnes and Bradford surely.... What's going on with Jack Murphy. is he not ready to step up?

For me Sam has got to stay at full back. He gets more space and time there, and we've all seen what he does with it. I take your point though, it is an option. I'd want a solution that causes the least disruption to the squad. Lockers has played 6 before and he and finch already have a relationship as playmakers. Plus, Tommy's defence is going to be missed and I don't think anyone would argue with what Lockers would do in defence at 6. My first choice option, for the next couple of games at least would be to bring Mellor in and see how he goes.

| O'Loughlin to 6 is the only viable option for me.
Losing Leuluai for the cup semi is the only real annoyance, I don't see his absence preventing us from doing well in the upcoming league games.

| Don't panic!
We still have the best half back in the comp. And the best full back in the comp. And the best pack in the comp. We'll be ok. More than ok. We are still the team to beat.
Tommy's a great player but even if he's played his last game for Wigan ( ) our season is not over!
COME ON WIGAN!

| Tommy's ability will never be matched, he carried 6 pints of lager in one go from the players bar across the pitch to the coach at the stoop post match in 2008 whereas Mark Riddell struggled with 4 pints and Tim Smith dropped one whilst carrying only 3 pints
