But it wasn't fair was it?
Up until 2008/2009 Superleague teams were limited on what they could spend dependant on turnover (50%), and then of course there were teams using offshore accounts, EBT's etc
To say that it wasn't a level playing field prior to 1996 is ridiculous, teams had the choice of what they wanted to spend, just like most other major sports.
People have a choice to spend up the max on their credit cards or keep in the black, it's their choice.
Since we the start of Superleague there has only been 4 winners of SL and 5 finalists. |

A fair level playing field. Of course, thats why theres only Wigan, Saints, Bradford and Leeds that have EVER won Super League since 1996, because its such a level playing field. I might put £20 on Wakefield to win it next year. |

So what is the treble then? Seeing as the world club challenge is played in the off season, and players can play in it that weren't part of the grand final winning team, as in new signings. So, if the Cup, Grand final and League leaders is NOT the treble, then what is? Explain....... |

Never happened that. Apparently. Neither did the betting scandal.
