A propper neutral ref stops the aussies moaning.

The English moan when it’s a French referee and the Aussies moan when it’s a kiwi referee. We just don’t like anything other than our own shocker

Its not that he's french, its just that he's crap.

We just don’t like his interpretation of the game that’s all. Every referee has a different interpretation. Richard Silverwood for example impressed the Australians so much during his world club challenge match between Leeds and Melbourne, he got called up to referee the ANZAC Test.



Not surprisingly the Australians won that game thanks to Silverwood’s style of refereeing. It was a different story come the four nations final when Tony Archer was the referee. Saying that I do hope that Mr Archer never ref’s an England game again.

When it comes to refs its not about who is good and who is bad, its about finding the best from a terrible bunch. Lets be honest they are all rubbish.

The question is...would you prefer a competent ref who is biased like all Australian refs when reffing a Test in which Australia play or biased like many English refs who have a history of disliking Wigan or Alibert who is always neutral but not so competent. I prefer Alibert. And, He has improved.

You'll be ok. He's easily influenced Alibert - he tends to make decisions based on the crowd or what his touch judges tell him.

Terry Albert should referee the WCC for sure. It's the only fair choice, as he isn't English and isn't Australian.

I would always want Saints to beat an Australian team...or even a Yorkshire team in a final.
