No seriously, The League Leaders Shield is the hardest trophy to win. To keep it up over 27 games, playing every team home and away, in different weather conditions, and having injuries in different parts of the season, is fantastic and shows who the best team is. The GF is decided against one team, in one weather condition, in a one off game that is open to referee decisions to decide it. (Withers knock on in 99/ Joynt 'voluntary tackle' in 02/ Smith offside last year)



Over the course of a season the refs decisions even them self out.....or over 44 years if its England and Germany in the soccer World Cup!

rightly or wrongly I don't really view the grand final as any different to the old system of a league championship followed by a premiership tournament culminating in a trip to OT. It's only sky that have ramped it up for their own gains. I'm prepared to be trolled by accusations of clinging on to the past or whatever, but apart from a few (daft) tweeks it's essentially the same thing. There's still 3 trophies available per season and to "win the league" over the course of a season is a fantastic achievement for any team competing in any sport.

Well when you start to beat the top sides around you instead of being flat-track bullies, you may see some trophies. "The Hubcap" IS the hardest to win. The CC can be won as a one off with some fluke results, and lucky draws, just like you did last season. Where were you in the chase for the "Hub-cap" ?

Don't lets get sidetracked here. Unless we win the Grand Final we will not be classed as champions. Fans and players alike need to concentrate on what is important and that is finishing top, winning in the first play off round so we get as big an advantage as possible from our hard work in the weekly rounds.

So you are agreeing that winning the "hub-cap" is very important.... Thank you.... Winning the Hub-cap gives a team rest and a big pychological advantage.... MM has set out his stall and said "If any of you want to win anything, you have to beat us". This is with virtually the same sad, sorry looking, 5 drives and a kick team we had last year, and the year before. The level of consistancy has been phenomenal, i doubt anybody is looking forward to playing us.

The League Leaders Shield is the hardest to win, but we are not champs unless we win at Old Trafford, yeah its daft when you have an even fixture list at your disposal but they are the rules.



At the beginning of every season, i put a tenner on us winning the LLS, a tenner on the CC and a tenner on the GF.



I threw my CC one away, but i got 14/1 to win the LLS and 8/1 to win the GF. I think the bookies know which is hardest to win. A title race would be great if they brought the Championship to being given back to the league winners

It won't happen though,not as long as Sky hold the rights for Superleague.

Sky brought it in to take away the gloss of the CC, as Sky couldn't screen the Challenge Cup final.



They were pumping all this money into RL, yet they didn't get to screen RL's biggest game?



They soon sorted that out, and they got away with it cos a playoff was used to decide champions for years in British RL, but that was because of a almost completely uneven fixture list. Today it is one MW game away from being completely even.



Even when we had a 12 team comp, and some clubs played some teams twice, others 3 times, and thier derby rivals 4 times in a season, thier was a perfectly good reason for playoffs, but not now - it simply makes sense that the team finishing top is the best and therefore champions.
