Is that you Maurice?'"
Still one of the best wingers in our game and if he has a poor injury record, no worse than Manfredi who has hardly played in the last couple of seasons or so and since his return has been anything like the Manfredi we saw prior to his injuries.

We haven't paid a transfer fee for him though on top of the wages we pay him.
I rate TJ massively and he is on the wing for England IMO if he's fit, but there is no way we should be splashing out a big fee on him at this stage.

So we carry on with Marshall out for the rest of the season, Manfredi playing nothing like he should be playing and Burgess only playing because no other winger is available and rumoured to be leaving for Salford at the end of the season.
As far as I am concerned, now is the time to be signing a specialist winger, if not Johnstone!

I think I’m the off-season we will maybe recruit a specialist winger.
Not been impressed with Bibby on the wing, and I’d actually like to see Hank get a go there as our 3rd choice option.
Thought he was great against Saints.
We don’t need to be paying fees for any winger in my opinion I’m sure there will be someone off contract to give us a third option to compete/cover Marshall and Manfreddi next season.

| Possibly a knee jerk reaction however after today’s (lack of) effort I wouldn’t pick him again.
I’d rather see someone like Hank get a go who is going to give 100% week in week out not stand on the wing sulking because it’s raining.

Hmm maybe a bit harsh. They just weren't conditions that suit him - he didnt seem to be low on carries. His biggest problem is his lack of acceleration of either foot - it takes an age for him to change direction. For someone whose game relies on pace that's a big issue.

| Davies and Sarginson would have been useful today. Chewing up metres early in the set

I just think he is good when he wants to be when the conditions and the opposition are in his favour.
Every time he is challenged or tested he seems to go missing or come up with some very poor play.
It’s a mentality thing with him in my opinion.

Attitude has been a major issue with him for some time but I personally think he's shown a big improvement in that area since getting his place back.
The problem was in the middle of the field today - very difficult to blame the outside backs in my view when they had no opportunities.

| What's really incredible is that, not long after they burst onto the scene, Burgess and Manfredi were being tipped by some to be England's first-choice wingers. Just watching the likes of the Fox and the Fergosaurus playing in Melbourne v Parra, and maybe it's a good thing that they both seem to have been found out before any such critical error of judgement could be made by the England selectors.
The difference in standards is literally frightening, as is the decline in these two young men's quality over a relatively short period of time. Manfredi maybe has an excuse, but today neither of them even looked good enough for SL let alone England.
