I make that about 18 months? You mustn't have been 1 of the approx 1000 who did make it that night?
In fact, I reckon it's a longer time since you last beat us at the IKEA dome?'"
Calm down son, its only a joke. The key part of the gag is not the precise period of time that has elapsed between two events, I have taken the fact that we have won twice in a row as a set up for the punchline. In fact, I am not even sure how long you have had the flags, but I made an assumption that enabled me to deliver the unexpected ending.
Don't take it too personally - I have now re-written the scenario to give you a different perspective.
1. I asked a Wigan fan what happens with all the flags when you beat Wire at the DW. He said, don't know yet, we've only had the flags for 589 days. (This assumes that you purchased the flags the day after you last beat Warrington Wolves at the DW Stadium and that the Wigan fan has not yet been let into the procedure should the result goes in Wigan's favour)
2. I asked a Wigan fan what happens with all the flags when you beat Wire at the DW. He said, I don't know. I said OK, thanks anyway.
Hope that clears things up.
By the way, you are correct in that we haven't beaten you at the HJ for a greater length of time
Last Wigan win v Wire at DW = 589 days / Last Wire win at the HJ = 674 days
With regard to the comment about not being one of the 1000 that made on the evening that you last beat us at the DW, I was indeed there. I went for 3 reasons: 1/ I go to as many away games as I can 2/ I never mis the Wigan away game 3/ we had beaten you in the Challenge Cup semi final the week before and wanted to make sure that you heard my Wembley songs
Have a great evening chief.
