Even though it means significantly less, it shows who the best team has been consistently throughout the year.
We've had some poor seasons of late, and yet officially been the 3rd best team in the competition because we played well in the last 3, 4 or 5 games. Whoever finishes top of the tree has shown over 8 months that they deserve to be there, just like Saints and Leeds have for the last few years. |
