Just shows how deluded the panel is

| I just don't get the disciplinary panel. That tackle was looked at by which ever member of the panel was given it to review. He then referred it to the other members of the panel for a decision on charge or not. The panel then look at it again and say, oh no we were wrong. Does that not show the process not fit for purpose.

| It’s just a mess. No consistency in decisions on the field, in the video refs box or from the disciplinary. Heads need to roll, be that Ganson, Cullen or whoever else is responsible for this utter sh*t show. How do they ban Mautautia for that in the first place? But then decide it gets turned over a day later? Priors 2 games is even more embarrassing than Singleton’s 3!
Worst season I’ve ever known in terms of officiating.

| OT, but there's plenty that needs to be looked at.
One of the things that pi$$es me off are the 6 again decisions. At one point on Saturday the ref gave us 6 again, on Saints line and we fluffed up the very next play with a knock-on. Now that's not the refs fault, but we'd probably have taken the 2 (would it have been offered) and been pleased about it. When you look at the final score, it makes a difference.

I’ve often thought that maybe the right approach is keep the 6 again / hooter but the team in possession can choose to stop play when the hooter sounds and take a penalty if they so wish.
You still avoid the cynical slowing down of play by having the option to keep rolling, but don’t get the annoyance of a 6 again on tackle 1 when a kick to touch/goal may be better.

That's a good idea. When you think back to the situation I mentioned above, Saints took the hit of the 6 again and used the extra time to set their defence and rush our next play. It 100% paid off.

| Yeah, that would be good. Or, at the very least, do as they do in the NRL and give a pen for infringement on the first tackle. But I agree that six again works best in midfield, with momentum. Off your own line, or even camped on your opponents' 20, not so much.

| If anyone has Wigan TV, I’d urge you to watch Matt Peet’s interview.
He’s spot on; our start was pretty soft and we could have gone after it more in the first 40. We were really poor first half and that’s what cost us the game. Watching it live on Saturday there was a real feeling of malaise watching that first 40; Sts were there for the taking considering the players they were missing.
That being said, the more you here from this Head Coach, the more it makes you believe we’re creating something special. He’s reasoned, measured and clinical in his approach.
The only thing I thought that he missed was that it looks like we’re going like for like with the 17 for Friday with KPP and Ellis. IMO, he got it wrong with changing the team so much from Wakey for the Saints team. I reckon with French at 1, Miski on the wing and Field at 6 we win that game last weekend. Onwards and upwards though!

He’s just always spot on. I loved his point that a win would have masked the poor performance.
Compare that to Lam who was dancing when we scraped 1 point wins against dreadful teams.

| Just think last year we was no where and now challenge cup winners and second in the league with Matt Peet in charge the improvement has been fantastic at least more or less the same players but just a complete different mindset to the game.
How much improvement will there be next year with a year under his belt, bloody hell if we win the Grand final this year I cant see what else he can do I think we will dominate for a while as we are playing a great brand of rugby and I dont see that changing anytime soon.
I would like to thank Matty,Lockers and Lee for what they have achieved so far this year.

| I was very impressed with his interview after the game on Saturday when I watched it back, same as I was on Good Friday too. He doesn't make excuses, he is honest and he is respectful about the opposition. He doesn't come out with wild claims and seems to be very measured in his approach and in his analysis of games. Basically everything that Lam wasn't. You can't help but like the guy.

The only time he seems to have lost his cool and composure a little was with the Matty Nicholson exit. I get that because youth development has been his career for a long time and I’m sure he had a plan for the lad (and he’ll know we’ve lost a potentially top level player). Other than that he had been exemplary and manages to keep himself together superbly well. He discussed the 3 game ban for Singleton on Wigan TV and even managed to keep a straight face saying he understood it. He did throw in that there’s a consistency issue but I’d have gone to town.
