Just to say George was signed without a massive fanfare but he has been probably the best signing in Superleague for any team in the last 5 years. Let's hope that we send him and the other lads, Tommy,Brett and Geoff off with a GF win....

I guess no one told Carmont this. He's been an outstanding centre one of the best the club has ever had. The biggest compliment I can think to pay Carmont is that over the years he's got rid of this 'bargain buy' tag and has turned that in to a tag of 'brilliant buy' or 'Ian Lenagans best ever signing' or 'One of Wigans best ever superleague signings' and so on which just goes to show how well this guy has played and he's done it over a sustained period of time.



He came as a cheap option we'd thought would be here for a year or two and leaves as a club legend that would have been worth any wages we could have afforded for him.



Terrific player and above anything I hope we can win the GF for him(and Leuluai).

To be fair to those who were underwhelmed when we signed George, he wasn't a top player at that stage in his career. He was a competent but far from world class player when he arrived but he just got better and better every year until last season when he was at the peak of his powers.



I've always liked George as a player, and watching him in games like the WCC and the Exiles match was fantastic, what a season he had and how well deserved it was to see him fulfil his potential. It has taken him a long time and a lot of hard work to get to the pinnacle of the sport but last season he was truly world class and unquestionably the best centre in SL.



This season it is obvious that he is at the wrong end of his career but his class and hard work have kept him at the top of SL. His recent form has been very good and I suspect we may see some more of the 2011 George in the playoffs (not that the 2012 George has been bad!).



I think he could do another year and still be one of the better centres in SL but would understand if he wants to bow out at the top now, who would begrudge him his choice? For me the man is up there with the likes of Bell and Dallas as great overseas servants of this club in the modern era. Whatever he does is fine by me.



Now all we need to finish George's career is for him to get another SL GF winner's ring, it would be no more than he deserves.

Not every player becomes a legend, but I seriously believe GC has done enough to warrant that status.

Thanks for everything George, enjoy retirement, we'll never forget you.
