There are loads of players out there using 'growth' but it is in and out of the system very quickly so Terry Newton has been very unlucky there, shouldn't have been using it but I can understand him taking the risk to prolong his career by taking it.



Certain players in the superleague who have got absolutely massive arms/muscles who haven't the frame or genes to naturally develop their muscles you can spot them a mile off or certain forwards who go through a stage of ripping it up and then fading into nothing are the obvious ones who could be suspected of using 'growth' and old players who seem to play on longer than expected.

Very sad way to end a career.



Im sure Newton is regretting what is a massive f*ck up on his part, but at the same time, I have no sympathy for the guy.

Fair enough if your standing by a mate, we would do the same, however I doubt one pill of anything would show up on a test, now if you mean one course of pills, as steriods are usually taken in courses, then thats a different matter, we dont know terrys motives for taking this, however its the stupidest decision he ever will make!

In all seriousness, I think he was a talented player let down by being a numpty and giving biff when it wasn't needed. He may be a hero to Wigan fans after finishing our season in 2005, but that's the kind of thing that stopped him being considered anything more than a decent player. Giving away stupid penalties at stupid times (like being under the Aussie sticks and being 3rd man in allowing them to go the length of the pitch and score

).

I've been told this weekend that Tez and father in law (Keith Holden) are taking over this Wigan pub next week? Surely this is a very amusing rumour, if not then its very ironic.

Last time I went to that pub, a few years ago now, it was in a bad way. The cubicle in the gents had a great big hole in the wall.
