| Poor choice of venue IMO should have been at Wire easier for Broncos fans and 10 minutes on the train for us and not 45 minutes on the bus........

Worst excuse ever, I could walk to Leigh in not much more than 45 minutes.

Not an excuse just an observation I will be there and as for the walk depends which part of the borough you live in,.
Notice there was no comment on the access ability for the Broncos fans.

Too true, and would you want to come all the way up from London to pay £26 for seat? The RFL does no favours for anybody, at least they are consistent at that

| £18 for a semi final is embarassingly cheap for one of the biggest games of the year. Unfortunately the season ticket culture we are experiencing atm means fans will not turn up.
The cup is dead.

Sad but true, it used to be the highlight of the season

| But aren't we told that winning the Cup matters far more than winning the League? Am so confused, I don't know what to think any more.
I think the whole sport is in deep trouble because of the lack of star quality in the competition. We were wrong to go with the lowest common denominator approach when we went with a low cap to make the league competitive. We now can neither attract nor keep any world class players for any length of time. When Sam leaves, is there anyone in the league who would make you pay to watch? Hard to think of one.
Having grown up watching Kenny, Ella and Ellery, I can't see How we will ever see their like again, save when the NRLers tour.
In years to come we may look back at the days the Cup attracted as many as 5,000 to a semi.

It was always wrong to go with a salary cap that was brought in to basically keep the 'have nots' happy. We must be the only sport that lets the clubs that bring the least to the table get their own way. I'm not saying we shouldn't have a cap but it should always have been worked on a percentage of a clubs income to encourage clubs to go out and work hard and bringing funds in to the clubs and the game.
We run the sport like a fussy primary school sports day at the minute where all the kids have to hold hands and cross the finish line together so none of the fat kids get upset.

| The headline of this post is Semi tickets sales embarrassing???.
Let me add the following headline Wigan RLFC and the RL embarrassing.
I live in Atherton which is 3 miles from Leigh so I thought why not go down to Leigh instead of going to Wigan for a ticket.
Last Friday morning (26th July) I went down to the Leigh ticket office enquiring about a ticket and was informed that the person who could help me was in a meeting, I was advised to phone Wigan.
On Saturday morning I phoned Leigh and was told that as Leigh was only hosting the match all tickets for the match had to come from either Wigan, London or RL headquarters and that Leigh wasn't on the system to sell tickets.
The same day I sent an email to Wigan and the RL pointing out how stupid it was if supporters local to the stadium either being Wigan supporters, Leigh supporters or neutrals could not get a ticket from the venue.
I put this on the Leigh Forum and I admit a Leigh supporter friend of mine said he could get me a ticket, he even asked me which stand I wanted, I thanked him and declined is offer saying I would see what the outcome of my emails to Wigan and the RL would be.
On Wednesday this week after getting no answer off anyone I phoned Leigh and asked if the ticket problem had been resolved and lo and behold I was told that Leigh had been given a batch of tickets.
I jumped in the car and went down to Leigh and was told that the tickets had arrived out of the blue at 11.00am (Wednesday the 24th July). I was asked did I want behind the sticks or on the side, I said West stand.
I was told the only tickets available in the West stand was block B, so I bought one.
This afternoon I have been on the London board and they have a map of the seating on and guess what Block B according to the London board is part of the London allocation ( not that I am bothered).
And to cap off this tale I have had no reply to my emails to Wigan or the RL, PAR FOR THE COURSE.

| From what I've heard from someone who knows the manager at Leigh Sports village, the other day we'd sold around the 2k mark. Not sure how many have gone since but I can't see it being many. SO it isn't looking great, And judging by the text messages I've had from Wigan RL today desperately trying to sell tickets I think that says everything you need to know. I've been shafted at work on a late shift so I can't make the game which I'm pretty dissapointed about.
It's not the most mouthwatering of fixtures, and likley to have a low following from London and I dread to think what it will look like on national tv if sales don't pick up. Times are hard and it's not cheap but it will be interesting to see how many people are in the queue Sunday morning for tickets should we get there.

| Was only 6200 on for the quarter final at Wigan, so can't see the semi attracting much more. Poor show really.
