I was told by a current Saints player that Fielden and Meli have both turned down Hull and have both agreed 12 month extensions - dunno how he would know, but I am not sure who talks to who out the two sides, except I have see HH out a few times in St Helens with their lads

Coley & Fielden to start with Lima & Prescott/O'Carroll/Davis off the bench is a marked improvement on this year.



If we would have lost Fielden next season it would have ruined any gains we made with the Lima signing.

Coley is definitely staying for another year, not really sure why this hasn't been announced.



An Wigan amateur RL coach told me tonight he had heard Fielden was due to sign on for another year at Wigan. Don't know the bloke too well (friend of a friend) but the fact that this info aligns with what has been put on here by some tonight is encouraging.

That along with the fact that it looks like we will be playing the playoff game on a Sunday is two pretty good pieces of info for me tonight!

Agreed a deal with Hull earlier in the week, it was then down to Wigan to offer him something or let him leave. Think he wanted 2 years but maybe he has accepted a one year?

Which is great news - sounds like at the end of 2011 we might need two new props if Coley and Fielden both only have one more year.



But obviously it's easier for our long term planning if we don't have to 'muddle through' a year a prop short.

We rejected Meli, preferring Will Sharpe instead.



Fielden has a 2 year deal agreed with Hull, just needs signing. Unless Wigan have changed their mind and offered him 2 years he'll sign for Hull.

Apparently he did make clear that he wanted to see out his career with Wigan but didn't want just a 12 month deal.
