Wigan need to stand their ground on this one if the rumours are true. Always had the impression Hastings was never particularly keen to sign for Wigan but when he committed the club would have ended their halfback search despite other opportunities that that may have arisen.

If we are left without a half back come the new year I’d take a punt on Smith as who else is there?



I’d have had Aidan Sezer in a heartbeat but he’s gone to Huddersfield.



All in all, there may be a bit of truth in the rumour and if it is and there are NRL clubs after him then as long as they provide us with a replacement half then I’d be happy. Mitchell Pearce would be nice, or Chad Townsend, Adam Reynolds or Michael Morgan.

The guy is apparently an active tweeter, but he hasn't addressed this issue at all, which I have to say I find worrying.

This isn’t the first time this issue has arisen and there’s no smoke without fire, if he’s not committed get a big fee for him and move him on, no one is bigger than the club and I’m sure we’d survive

We all knew that, his clause is for the end of the first year providing he informs the club he wants to activate it before a set date.

Literally never mentioned he’s moving to Wigan since he signed.



Someone asked him to update his Instagram bio which said “ Salford Red Devil’s #31”



Someone said change it to Wigan



He replied “nah”

I said this back in Oct when I spoke to him and was shot down. He is barely acknowledging being a Wigan player and I personally believe he doesn't want to play for our club or actually live in England anymore.

As long as that’s Harry and not Matty Smith?







I can’t see any of them moving now TBH. Personally I’d be inclined to say go with what we’ve got rather than panic sign or we’ll end up with another sub standard player like Sammutt.

I said that Lenegan should contact him and just tear his contract up if he doesnt want to come (or something along those lines).



It was met with howls and scathing attacks against me. But the fact is, Hastings has not once shown a scintilla of enthusiasm for joining the club, in fact, he has always come across as having a dislike of Wigan.



We do not need players that dont really want to come and are only coming because the money was too good to refuse. I know the money is always a big part of a player going to a club but at least they usually show some enthusiasm. The way Hastings has acted has me wondering if he would even try his best whilst here?
