| Good to see James Child hasn't been picked either this week. Shocking referee.
Maybe Cummings knows what he's doing after all

| Glad to see they are actually doing something about it. I couldn't believe it when I heard about that. Absolutely shocking.

I wouldn't go that far.
Alibert's error was pretty easy to quantify - it led directly to a team winning who otherwise would have lost. What about all the other errors that are made earlier on in games? Nothing ever seems to get done about those.

Weren't Wire winning at the time the try was scored? Who can say whether Wakey would have gone the length of the field to win it??
You can't expect the same thing to happen when all the ingredients are different.

TBH, I don't know whether Cummins has words with his referees or not about glaring errors. I presume he must be going through match videos, otherwise what is he doing all week? And if he never hands notes to his team then there's no point going through the videos.
But last weekend's Wigan v London game was a classic example of bizarre refereeing. Childs never stopped awarding penalties, but consistantly missed the Broncos' lying on and messing around at the play-the-ball. I don't think it possible to work out what kind of effect that has on the overall result, but it certainly causes frustration to the players and fans. As refs' controller it's got to be down to Cummins to do something about that. Of course, he can't suspend too many of them - otherwise there'd be no-one left to officiate.

| I usually find myself sticking up for the match officials, but this season the standards really do seem to have dropped. Having said that I think a match changing clanger was always going to happen eventually for Alibert. He just doesn't seem to have a tight grip of what's actually going on out there.

| Alibert makes daft mistakes but Child easily has the worst overall refereering style. Constantly blowing for needless penalties and preventing the game from flowing. He has been criticised by fans, coached and players for pretty much his whole SL career.

| They just don't seem to have any on field authority in my eyes, and therein lies the problem and I feel that the lack of use of the sinbin has been to the detriment of authority. The consistant questioning of certain players, and we all know who they are, further undermine authority.
