Quote Rogues Gallery="Rogues Gallery"The U16's score is a little misleading. Wigan were 28 - 12 ahead with about ten minutes to go and had a player sin (Rooney) for deliberately kicking the ball away at a Saints 20 metre restart. What he was supposed to do when the ball was thrown directly at him by A Saints player I'm not sure.'"
I disagree with this, the kid was stupid and will rightly get a rollocking from his coaches.
Wigan were good value for the big lead and had the game sewn up in the middle of the park.
Saints tries were on the edges and they did not have a goalkicker to convert.
I thought the Wigan winger Burgess made the two key plays of the game in scoring to extend the lead to 28-12and then coming off his wing to bring down Savelio as Saints looked like scoring on the last play.
Very enjoyable game.
