I'm looking forward to his return as much as the next person. But I'm not expecting him to set the world alight from the off go. He's not played in 2 years after all.
What I have always known is, that Gareth was the best secondrower in SL before his ban.
Just compare Gareth's stats the season he got banned, with Westwood's from last year, probably Ben's best season to date. Hock's stats are nothing short of superb. Particularly when you take into account Gareth played 8 games less than Westwood.
And what makes it even more impressive, is that the 2009 season for Wigan was complete and utter mediocrity, we never reached higher than fifth in the table that year. Where as last year which Ben's stats come from, Warrington spent all but three weeks of the season in second spot.

If Gareth can return and begin to find his form, and then hopefully with his new found maturity he can kick on to being an even better player. We'll have the best backrower in the competition playing for us once again. |

TBH I am more excited about big Stu coming back, from what I understand about last night we where battered by their pack, even with Coley out this shouldn't happen. Hock & big Stu coming back will hopefully prevent this from happening again all the way through to the Grand Final (fingers crossed)

P!ss off to your own board. He's served a 2 year ban for taking a recreational drug and has spent the majority of that ban proving to the club that he is worth keeping hold of and that he has learned his lesson. You'd have a completely different opinion I'm sure if it was a Wire player. |

I'm more concerned about the expectation being heaped on him before he's even pulled the shirt on again. As far as I'm aware a two year lay off won't have left him with the ability to leap tall buildings or walk on water. |

Just the response I would expect. I have said in the past that any player from whatever club they played for should be banned for life for drug abuse, no questions asked it does the sport and Wigan RLFC no credit at all welcoming him back. |
