Quote Teessidewire="Teessidewire"Featherstone Rovers. Regarding Knotty Ash and Alt Park, The first one was when they were Liverpool City, the second one was the grave error of moving to Huyton.'"
liverpool had a chequered history.
my earliest recollections were of them playing as LIVERPOOL STANLEY....at Stanley greyhound stadium, they changed to L. CITY in 50/51 and played at Mill yard in knotty ash.
69 they moved to , and played as HUYTON at Alt Park, eventually
85 they moved to canal st, as RUNCORN HIGHFIELD (bringing them a full circle..explain later)
90 saw them move to Hoghton Road, sutton, st helens, and 91 they changed names to just HIGHFIELD
96 saw then move to Vlaerie park, prescott and another name change to PRESCOTT PANTHERS
67 they went into administation and never recovered as far as i know.
now the HIGHFIELD name.
prior to being LIVERPOOL anything, they were WIGAN HIGHFIELD 1880-1895 and 1902-1933 playing at tunstall lane, then LONDON HIGHFIELD for 1933 playing at the White City stadium for one season..then it was LIVERPOOL STANLEY (see earlier)
they did have 1 season in 1906/7 as liverpool city, but had no affiliation or connection with Highfield until later.
that single season saw a record of played 30, lost 30.
they did draw 1 v bramley, but bramley withdrew and the records were deleted,
at the end of the season they were kicked out of the league and replaced by..............................................................
