Why wasn't the Richards try given as a penalty try?

When Richards kicked through Meli played the man and not the ball deliberately obstructing Richards in getting to the ball.

Penalty try perhaps with the conversion from between the posts.

It wasn't given as a penalty try because it was a try.



However, I did wonder why they were looking at it so much. Thought there was going to be an option for the 8 point try with Pryce kicking his legs out.

Richards blatantly knocked on for the Carmont try, do not think we can complain too much after that. We were always hanging on in my opinion, never really looked like winning despite a solid performance.

At last - someone who saw the game as it was. We all can be accused of wearing blinkers at times - it is passion for our team that does it. As most of you would say if Wigan had won its a case of swings and roundabouts. Somethings went your way and somethings went our way tonight but both teams played with some passion and there has to be a loser - tonight it had to be you.

I didn't see the ball change direction, it seemed to me Richards PLANNED to miss the ball. Otherwise he wouldn't have had his arms so wide apart.

Yes he did, the ball changed flight. But at the end of the day, you win some you lose some, and the better team won.
