| Quote NickyKiss="NickyKiss"Same again for me. We've tinkered too many times this season and we need a settled side. In time I'd also like to see Finch starting but for the moment we should continue to ease him in. If Lima is suspended the only change I'd make is to bring Chris Tuson onto the bench with Prescott starting.'"
Why wait tho?
Mcilorum simply is not good enough and Tommy has turned in his best performance of the season at 9.
We looked faster and sharper with Tommy at 9.

I'm not saying he has BUT Tommy was a different class at 9 on Friday. It's reflected in the MOM poll that people saw this.
I also thought Finch had his best game so far. Him and Deacon seemed to work well together. We had more kicking options, Tommy was a danger and making good yards at dummy half and Finch was giving guys like Joel and Carmont plenty of extra time with some excellent quick passing.

To say Mcilorum isn't good enough is totally unfair IMO. He is having a good season and his style of play is uncompromising and is brilliant to have in our armour. I thought he was excellent in 2 shorter bursts on Friday and I think that rest really helped his game rather then him being run into the ground for 80 minutes. I agree Tommy should be at 9 in the long term but at the moment Finch is still settling in and has been much better from the bench. The first 20mins on Friday will be all hustle and bustle and that suits Micky Macs game down to the ground.

| Tommy was superb at 9 on Friday. So I'd be inclined to agree and go with Finch and Deacon in the halves with McIlorum starting at 9, with Tommy coming off the bench. There's no way that'll happen imo, but it's what I'd pick.
If I'm honest I think Madge will go with the exact 17 that played against KR. With the only change possibly being Lima dependant upon whether he's banned or not. Hopefully not.

| McIllorum cannot lead us or direct us round the field, and sadly I do not think he ever will be able to. I appreciate that he has a good defence and is hard as nails, but personally I do not think he has what it takes to be a career Wigan player. He has his moments but for me Piggy carried us last year around the ruck and its a skill McIllorum will never have.
In my opinion Lima should not pick up a ban, but if he does, Davies from what I have seen this year has been poor, looks badly out of condition to me, carrying too much weight up top and not enough on his legs.

He's been ok but we've massively missed Piggy.
I agree we need to swap changing which is why we start from now with our best line up.
Finch isn't a green behind the ears youngster here. He's played and won GF and SOO games. He found form on Friday and looked good with Deacs. Let's build on it.

Your right jon. When I think back to Thursday night Davies looked along way of the player he was at Widnes. I appreciate he broke his jaw earlier this season. But after seeing his lethargic performance for Barrow I can see why Crosby has moved ahead of him in the pecking order.
Shame really because with Coley's expected departure at the end of this season. Ben may see a fair bit of game time next year, if he's up to it.

| Gaz hock will be our prop next year. He is the ready made replacement for coley. The props in 2012 will be:
Fielden
Lima
Preccy
Mossop
Hock
Crosby
Possibly O Carroll.
I think Davis will go at the end of this year when his contract expires

This but with Farrell on the bench and Hansen starting... and also Prescott has more impact than Lima so should be played off the bench.
In my opinion the key to team selection is to see if Madge is willing to change things around during the game when things are not going our way. All last season we were always in with a shout even in the games we lost.... there was no need to change things around too much... this season has been different, we needed a change in the wire game and the catalans game but nothing really came. In the Leeds game the switch of Sam to 6 won the game.
If things are not going our way and we are not in the game then I hope Madge leaves Tommy for a long spell at hooker while moving Sam to 6 in attack.
