I know this is a kind of open-ended question, and any right-thinking person would say 'both, not either or', but realistically where will Wigan be focussing, if - and it's a big IF - they get past Hull in the semi?



And no, I don't expect people to produce a crystal ball, I'm just wondering what we think or fear.



In the old days of Graham Lowe and John Monie, Wigan possessed iron-hard mentality and discipline, and could easily handle the pressure of both competitions at the same time. I'm not sure it would be that easy now for anyone. Yes, Leeds did it last year, but to be fair, their Wembley final hardly tested them. And, as our current bunch of faltering heroes still seem inclined to flunk the big challenges under almost any circumstances, I can't help wondering if it could only ever be one or the other.



I imagine that if we beat Hull, this Warriors team - who at times seem very difficult to motivate (the bigger the occasion the more sluggish they are apparently are!) - will be so relieved to have made a final (and perhaps rightly so given the unending injury crisis), that the Super 8s will go by the board. Not intentionally, but I see so little moral fibre in the current Wigan team that it's really difficult to picture them battling their way to glory on both fronts (even though the fixtures for the 8s offer them a relatively early opp to get revenge over Saints on our own midden).

If it were one or t'other it would be a Challenge Cup win. That's where the money is for the club.

If and its a big IF we beat Hull, I still think it'll be difficult to beat Wire at Wembley assuming they get there which I think they will. Wire seem to have the edge over us in recent years. I'd say GF was a more likely possibility given our run of final losses and more so the manner of them. We all know what happened v saints in that GF and if the knock on against Maguire had been given who knows what might have happened?

It's not necessarily the wini don't think, just the appearance.



Therefore Grand Final win plus a Challenge Cup Final loss.

Challenge Cup Final defeat is the definition of agony. I've experienced it five times, but I suppose it's better than not getting there at all.



A Grand Final win would make up for it, but it would be tough to bounce back from that degree of disappointment sufficiently to reach Old Trafford.



I wish I had more faith in Wigan's mental strength.

The Grand Final will always be bigger for me just because of the amount of wins against top opposition required to get there as opposed to the Cup where you might only need to beat a couple of top teams. Having said that, I'd gladly take us underperforming in the super 8s and finishing fourth in the league if it meant winning the challenge cup

Your favourite to win both on betting . Top coach and players you should be very confident . We will struggle to get near you Fri but we will try.

Don't beat yourself up too much. Unless we're holding an awful lot in reserve, I'm really struggling to see a cherry and white win this weekend.

Warrington are favourites for the cup according to the bookies. Having a semi against Wakefield probably doesn't hurt.

sorry I meant to say your fav to win fri, and fav to win grand final, and rightly so, we havnt played well and struggled to win the last few matches after 2 bad losses, you are a top class team with world class players all over the park, as long as we give our all we might keep on your shirt tails,
