Just a quick one to wish Wigan all the very best for the up and coming season.



Also while chatting about all things RL with a friend of mine today who is a Wigan ST holder he seemed to be under the impression you are bringing a team of kids for the friendly again this year.



I felt it prudent to inform the Wigan Fans or at least those who read this MB that we have agreements in place and furthermore in writing with Wigan and you have a made a promise to bring over a strong first team squad for what we hope will be a good hit out for your all conquering team of 2013 as you build up to the WCC in Aus.



Would be great to see as many of you over at the Sports Village as possible and I'm confident our boys will deliver a competitive game for you to commence what we hope to be our most exciting season in years.

I enjoyed it last season despite the result and look forward to the game in a fortnight. Do you know whether we will be able to pay on the turnstiles this time? Many of us spent a long time queueing up at the ticket office last year and missed quite a bit of the game.

Won't be able to pay on the gate however tickets are on sale now and can be bought before the day of the game and we have worked hard on a strategy with the stadium management company to improve and better facilitate match day ticket sales so queues should not be a problem this year.

Where is the lad ?

Let's hope the side we bring does have quite a few kids in it. If we bring a first 17 it's not going to be much of a spectacle.

Charlie WILL be attending the Game ,I will be bringing a few of the Wigan branch of the Carolis as my guests ,they are Wigan Latics fans as well as Warriors fans and I was at the Wigan v Burnley game ,best 90 minutes sleep ive had for years





.



Im spending more and more time in Wigan these days , I call it my Missionary Work ,some residents in Hawkley Hall have even learned to use knives and forks now

Spectacle? It's a pre-season friendly in Leigh. Trains are considered a form of wizardry in that part of the world

Very good reply Charlie, will you be taking your Wigan relatives into the George and Dragon before the match and if so will you be introducing them to Salford Lad.

I appreciate your the SL champions and CC holders but just so you know a bit more about Leigh Centurions:



Six months ago we got a new set of investors and a board together at Leigh with long term investment and planing to build a SL club in our own right. The finance and investment is long term and works have started on building the club in a way it has never done in the past not just to try and fast track it's self to the top and fail. As part of this we have maintained a strong professional relationship with Wigan but dissolved the formal partnership as we hope to playing in completion in time against your great club and bringing back the good old days of friendly rivalry, good games and big crowds.



It's very early days but regards the playing side of the business we've added full time assistant coaches, conditioners and back room staff and we've invested in some quality full and part time players and big first team squad of 29/30 for the coming season. We've also invested heavily in our U20s squad and building some serious briges and connections with the community RL clubs.



Having raided Super League for the likes of Tom Spencer from yourselves, Oliver Wilkes & Liam Kay from Wakefield, Jake Emmett from Salford, Alex Brown from Hull KR just to name a few we feel we've assembled a pretty handy side for 2014.



Barring selling Sam Hopkins to yourselves we also retained the squad which won the NRC cup last year and have taken the some of the best players from our Championship rivals the likes of Tom Armstrong from Sheffield, Jamie Acton from Workington and Sam Barlow from Halifax again just to name a few.



It would be really appreciated if as many of you RL people from Wigan came over and made an atmosphere to match our lot and with you bringing your first team this year you may even stand a chance of breaking your duck and actually beating the noisy neighbours

I would prefer to watch the new players mixed with the youngsters its much more entertaining. with the first team it would be over in 15 minutes, hopefully in 3 or 4 season Leigh will be closer to top superleague standards but it will take a lot of effort and cost a fair amount.



SRW1996 has the investment only happened because of promotion and relegation? what happens if you don't get the promotion? But good luck with it.

There is no promotion this season, only relegation

Decent side Leigh so it should be a good game.
