I think the club is in good hands with IL. He talks a lot of sense and he talks intelligently. Much better than the previous people in charge.

He said that 4 youngsters getting £50,000 each is much better than a 29 year old Aussie on £200,000 who might be injured or have doubts about his attitude.

Wigan are going in the right direction.

Noble wants a twelve month deal to give him 10 years in super league. Both parties are considering their options.



No signings for next year at present.

I'm not a massive fan of Noble but if it means we can get the right man in 2011 then I'd be happy for him to get another year.

Like you asy it depends if we can get the right man and if that's next year (2010)I think Wigan and Noble will part company. Otherwise a 1 year deal looks on the cards.

Sounds like tonights been a big pile of e, no startling revelations, nothing announced on the player or coaching front and generally nothing of interest, glad I didn't attend.

Noble doesn't want to coach in superleague after 2010.. therefore he wouldn't want any longer than a further one year deal... therefore I don't think his re-appointment is performance based, but more a case of if wigan can get the best man this year... then no deal for noble.. and if no one is available assuming noble doesnt get a job offer in the NRL he will stay and if he does get an offer he will go at the end of the year...



Very interesting twist on the noble situation, I asked IL the question on the subject and he was more open when I pushed him on the issue rather that the "there is no announcement to make" stance he took in his presentation..



One thing IL did say was that he was embarrased at times with the comments on the forums about certain players who seemed to have been victimised... and enforced his opinion(and mine) that it does nothing to improve "said" player... but pushes them away and affects there performance... he named richie mathers as an example of a player who has since gone on to play better football in a team were he has been given a chance to find some form.... he reiterated that Karl Price should be given a chance.... and he also pointed out that this weeks comments on this board about Amos roberts were out of order after the performances he has put in of lately...



I had a good evening and will definately attend the next one, IL lost his rag with a chip shop owner at the start of the fans questions... which was pretty funny...





One last point.... season ticket prices for next year havent ben finalised... but the club is looking to cut prices for kids.. one of the reasons is that we have the oldest (in terms of average age)supporters in the league....
