It's too late to salvage anything from this catastrophe of a season - as Lister said, we should have nipped this in the bud and given Powell the push after Round 8 when things could still have been rectified.
I hope Rea isn't given the job / isn't interested in the job permanently - much as I like the guy that would be a regressive step. We need someone new and fresh, with genuine pedigree, who can sort out the frankly enourmous mess on the field that the club is in. My worry is that with so little room to move on the recruitment front, the new coach will already be starting with a set of players who are complacent and badly coached.

I'm sure Tony will do his best for us short term, but if we are going to succeed in London then we need the best current successful coach that is available for next season. |

Can't think of a better bloke to steady the ship until the end of the season.

Tony Rea will be a safe pair of hands and wil hopefully steady the ship before a permanent appointment is made for for next season . Wonder if he would be interested in a Director of Rugby type post or is he looking to be a full time SL coach again? Am now gutted I can't make 3 of the last 4 games this season - a few weeks ago I was relieved I'd be missing them!!

Tony Rea's record as CEO is not brilliant. He had all the largess of the Virgin millions and we ended up broke with no real crowd increase. Remember the 1999 Wembley debacle, where we got no data info from the Wembley ticket Stoop sales?
No, he is a better coach than CEO, though I am sure he could help GM in that area. |
