Just about thirty years since a democratically elected Prime Minister showed the miners union who runs the country and you are still whingeing about it. Why not join the 21st Century? Move on! |

Thatcher closed the pits down because they were no longer viable as going concerns. Years of "take take take" by the trade unions had driven the industry into a state where it was costing the COUNTRY more than it was providing........your honest and hardworking miners essentially wanted the rest of the country to subsidise them so they could keep their jobs......AKA, something for nothing.
