I didn't want to hijack the 3 wishes thread with this discussion so I will start a new thread





I think Chad Randall will be unveiled as the new club captain at the pre season launch but I don't think I agree with it on his recent performances.



I am unsure who I would give this honour too but I would like to hear others opinions on it.

I think it will be Chad Randall aswell but I don't think it should be, the only other options does seem to Craig however I'm not too keen with that idea either. Maybe Rob will surprise us, we shall see.

Robertson is a guy who leads by example,hardly misses a game,not been a captain to my knowledge before,but maybe nows the time.

IIRC, at the fans forum David Hughes certainly spoke of Gower's leadership qualities and experience, he all but said it would be him

Its his off field antics i would be concerned about.

Smoking at Wembley with Karl Temata hardly puts his commitment to the cause in a good light.

Not Chad Randall please.

Chris Melling. Always puts 100% in on and off the field.



But unlikely to be a squad regular next season, so we'd need a different on-field captain. Think we've done that before with a Club Captain and a Team Captain. Not sure who that should be.

Gower is a big gamble, but Hughes and Powell both keep saying they have done their homework on him and he is the right man. That could well make him captain next year but Im still not convinced about him sonic we were going to give it to a new signing I'd rather it be robertson who will lead by example every week or Witt if it has to be someone influential in the middle of the pitch

Sogs-believe we usually have a team and club captain but I assume you are referring to the former.



I reckon Powell will see who shapes up in the pre-season before making his decision but one would imagine that CG will be a frontrunner. We all know about his (ahem) "foibles" but you can't ignore the fact that the man has captained his country in a test and his team in a winning grand final.



I haven't got a clue who is right for the job, but I don't think Chad would let anyone down and Robbo seems to have the right credentials so is a good shout imo.



BTW, I hear that Chad was a major influence in God-Witts decision to join us so maybe we should lay off bagging Chad for a while (unless Witt turns out to be piles in which case carry on!)
