| Not named as one of the venues, we seem to have fallen behind Limerick and Bristol. Good luck to them, but it seems to have thrown away the investment of a few weeks ago.

| I can only assume we'll get a semi final, possibly both, at Wembley.
Did Limerick really get 3,000 spectators for an RL game? Who on earth was playing?!

| Seems a bizarre decision. I'd have thought a group game such as Australia v Fiji or NZ v Samoa might have been well attended in London with the amount of them about!

| Just Trust that we are going to be completely ignored and get at least get one of the semi's or even the final at Wembley.
St Helens are disappointed they have only got a group game, when Warrington have only of the quarter finals, but it seems that St Helens may have just applied while Warrington and the local council worked so hard and even with a smaller ground than Saints 13,000 to 18,000 they got it!

Yeah can only assume, but did anyone from our club actually bother to tender a bid to host a game or work as a host venue?

| So strange to see this, especially given the amount of Aussies/Kiwis living here. They'd see a large turnout for one of their matches. Also would have been good to see an England game here, to continue the momentum of Wembley.

Not what I said. I said that Warrington applied first, with Wigan after and Saints last of all (from the three under discussion). I also talked about marketing. St Helens Council and Saints did squat to market the bid either before or after it was submitted whereas Warrington worked hard to market it as I found out when I worked for a while in Warrington. Warrington have two games - a group and a quarter - and they are also being used as a base. Saints got a group game only. I suggested - but it was only my suggestion - that we didn't meet the 'enthusiasm' criterion, that is the Council and Club did naff all to promote interest in our local community for the RLWC. That was the case too. They did naff all. So IMO Warrington deserved the two game award and we didn't.
As for London not getting any games, this seems a bit bizarre but the RFL have come out defensive saying that they have 'learned the lessons' from the last world cup. Did something go wrong in London in 2000? I wasn't a follower of League back then so I don't know. Did your local authority put in a bid? Or are you guys thinking more of a date at Wembley?

| Just checked and the only London game in 2000 was at Twickenham and it had the biggest crowd after the final.

| Semi-finals should be at the Etihad Stadium and Elland Road. Final should definitely be at Wembley Stadium.
