We are now over 2 weeks since the announcement. We have been stripped of our playing assets, we do not have anyone stupid enough to take this challenge on.

The most obvious answer is almost certainly the right one. Not much - having said that it’s pretty much business as usual as per last few off seasons.



My guess:

Comms dept announcing departures.

Possibly a fire sale of old kit, postguards etc.

A message from CEO saying it’s done.

I think Kershaw’s had the lot.

Had a glimmer of hope when Mike Eccles turned down another job, maybe something was on the horizon. With the departure of majority of the playing rosta the writing is well and truly onbthe wall I think. Season technically not over yet so bills and wages still being paid I reckon but after next week, who knows. Imagine we have to make a call sometime to RFL will we take part next year.

The official deadline is probably the AGM of whichever league the club want / are allowed to join. Given the SL line up announcement date, I guess that will be November some time.



Clearly if it reaches the point it becomes impossible for a new owner to field a competitive side, that could well be it for next season. There's a slight possibility the club may be permitted deferred entry to League One in 2026 - remember that was granted to the Oxford / Gloucestershire merger which never happened,,- but I'm firmly in the land of straw clutching there.

I suspect Hughes has smashed up his train set so badly no-one else can play with it.

Sadly I reckon you're spot on.

Obviously we don’t have any details but if we haven’t been beavering around in the background looking for potential buyers then issuing a terse “I’m off” statement together with an “offers welcomed” sign in the window doesn’t seem to me like a credible way you go about selling anything.

I wonder if our folding will give Hunslet the opportunity to take a place in the Championship even if they lose to Swinton.
