| If it wasn't for Brierley winning the Hull KR match last season we would already be in the championship. Who do you think will be next to leave the Titanic?

| Quote hedgehog="hedgehog"Not Brierleys fault he could not tackle, pass, organise a defence, make anything off his own back, bring players into a game. At least all Ellis could not do was tackle
Dropping 2 divisions probably puts him at his correct level, and shows his lack of ambition/confidence in his own ability.
Good in a dominant team, useless where he has to take responsibility'"
Well everyone knew the type of player he was when they fought so hard to get him, And according to PA he was brought here to play Fullback, I would have thought the plan was to play to his strengths, but obviously not.
You may have a point about being in a dominant team. That was never going to happen with us though was it ? We can't dominate an injury hit team of Amateurs, If fact i don't think i can remember the last time we dominated anybody, Our pack is well adjusted to coming off second best. Worth remembering also that without Brierley we would almost certainly have been playing in the Championship now
Ellis was a honest trier who was capable of a good game in and among , He had been at enough S League clubs to have made his mark but failed to do so at every one, Including the Giants, and it wont have escaped your notice we now have half a team full of Championship players, Including a half who can't tackle either, mostly because he spends as much time crocked as he does playing.

Except it could be argued Gaskell isn't really a championship player- in the same way as brierley, unlike him He spent his junior years learning At a SL club in a full time environment from some top class players. Saints would not sell him when we tried all that time ago- so thought he had something. He then played at two other SL clubs- and it could be argued he ended up at a championship club through showing loyalty rather than his ability. For me Gaskell has shown himself to be a better 'rugby' player than brierley did.

Your points about Gaskell are fair enough jools, my references to him were more in the way of his injury record, But i agree with you he has a more complete game than Brierley.
But to be fair we have lots of players who are very one dimensional so why single out Brierley without making any attempt to utilize his skills or at least play to them. Has Hinchcliffe ever made a run from dummy, They must be rare, Has Lawrence ever broken the line and offloaded, equally rare but we still persevere with him, and we have others who's games are very suspect in parts, They however are not expected to transform us into a winning side in a handful of matches. Brierley was at least capable of winning us a game , and did,
His tackling has been cited as being very poor" fair enough " but bearing in mind the number of games he has played, and our points against this season , it would appear the problem will not be solved with him going, so why are we not giving the same amount of credit to our stalwarts, who are doing so much better than Brierley.
But Hey ho he is gone now, so it onward and up with the Giants.

| Well done Giants, that's more like it!
Brian McDermott, you need to learn how to lose graciously you clown, disgrace in the post game interview. Needs to learn from Mr Wane and how he handles himself.... your team were crap, talk about them not how bad the victorious team were. His attitude is bad, but only just slightly better than his terrible hairline.
