| I just don't see what gilly offers us . Promise I get 100 per cent behind all players, and this is not a reaction to cas game - but I watch him each week and see little positive production out of him. He never has a nightmare game , but is that a good enough standard to be selected each week - and think of the players who he is depriving playing time to.
I think giants standards are higher nowadays than he offers us.
Am I missing something ?

| I thought Gilmour was one of our better players on Saturday to be honest. Made some good meters and as always is solid in defence further to that his versatility also came into play once Bruno went off injured.
The main thing about Gilmour though is his consistency which as NB keeps saying is key to getting silverware, he always gives 100% and I can't remember him having a bad game. Plus his experience in a fairly youthful side is paramount.

| Against Cas probably gained close to most of the yards for us and I still think he's a decent player who is very consistent and performs week in week out.

| The above points all fair enough - but is that the limit to our ambitions? Best player against Cas, experience , tackling, gives 100% and speed (not 100% sure with speed one)? When he came we needed him and his experience, and at that moment the fit was right, but for really for this season ? I think some of the others could offer all the above (including speed) plus, plus some more above...
Don't get me wrong - quite like him (except his funny voice), and he does a decent shift, but when did you last leave a game thinking he was MOTM...?

| Gilly offers lots to the team still ...as well as doing everything there is to do in the game and being someone the younger guys can look up to he's still got bags of energy, a great defence, is strong, makes hard yards going forward, offers cover in different positions, and knows his way to the try line !!
TBH it doesn't matter if he's MOM every game or not thats irrelevant to what he offers the team - i'm sure most Giants fans will want him in our team than opposing us !

Where the Giant's have succeeded over the last two years in comparison to the seasons before is in their defence. We all know in 2009 we had the best defence and in 2010 the second best and the reason for this is due to people like Stephen Wild (in 2009) and Lee Gilmour (in 2010) and the sheer volume of defensive work they get through in the number of tackles they make. Lee Gilmour was our top tackler in 2010 with 699 tackles add that plus his versatility, experience, commitment and consistency makes him a good player to have in the team.
In my opinion anyway.
