| Quote kirkhall="kirkhall"Some people on here need a reality check! Anyone expecting the game to be competitive, with the side Warrington fielded, were deluding themselves. The main difference between Super League clubs and Championship teams is size! and Wire had size in abundance. Fifteen on their squad are highly paid internationals who are expected to perform to their best every game. The difference in Salaries would be interesting to know? Much of our team was the same as last year so I wasn't expecting a 'miracle' performance! Its easy to blame the Ref, so I will...... what a T@@ser! irrespective of the penalty decisions, how many pionts did Wire accumalate from kicks, with players regathering the ball when in front of the kicker and, forward passes too? It dosn't really matter in the great scheme of things however, it is frustrating to watch.
There were many plusses today though and, the Stadium looked magnificent! I know my Wire friends who visited the Stadium today, for the first time, were hugely impressed. Of course, its the Team and Rugby served up which is of major interest to us fans and, I thought we looked good at times, three of the four newcomers added very little today and, Ridyard and McConnell should be our 6 & 9 respectively. I thought Robbie Paul played extremely well particularly, when paired with Ridyard these two will more than hold their own playing behind what will be a good pack of forwards this season. No one should be dishearted from yesterday's performance as I'm sure better results are to come!

| Wigan play Warrington on the Wednesday after playing us so it'll definitely be a mostly reserve side.
BTW did anyone notice Andrew Johns there yesterday?

| Quote The Kevster!="The Kevster!"Maybe not but surely if you didn't you wouldn't expect as big a turn out because people would expect you to turn Fev Lions over very easily.
I just think it's a bit rough to ask people to pay £14 for a friendly against a "watered" down Wigan side. The same applies really if people know it's not a 1st team squad from Wigan they wont turn up unless they are "die hards".
Money's tight guys and and people want to see the best if they're paying the top price. I'd prefer to keep the £14 in my pocket and go to the Oldham game if it's not a decent Wigan side if I'm honest.'"
Wigan with 6/7 first teamers and the rest fringe will be a great game, and a much better team than Oldham will turn out so your logic is crazy.
Dont turn into another moaning Leyther, we are playing the owd enemy, we dont get to play them that often these days, make the most of it.

| Come on Kevster. Starbug changed my mind with his comment. We should be going to watch Leigh and this game will be a closer test to what we will be playing against the rest of the year. I would just like to add to this thread that I think that Morty should be given a big pat on the back for getting up and carrying on after that crunching tackle from Harrison. It would have been easy to go off injured. I am now looking forward to next sunday.

| No he's just massive and hits bloody hard.
Big talent that bloke, still only about 21/22 and Vinnie Anderson won't be getting his 13 shirt back.
