Why does last season still need to be mentioned, I don't see the point?

A bit like the war, 71, 82, 66, etc Indeed talk of nothing in the past and debate the future with vigour

You ignore history at your peril hence the expression learning from your mistakes.



The RFL will eventually see that we are in the second year of franchising and crowds have dropped for practically all professional clubs.



There is a saying if it works don't fix it. Seems obvious to me therefore if it doesn't work then you should fix it.



You never know if the RFL do fix it we might be in a proper Superleague next season and our crowds might take off accordingly.

Quite a few people have fallen into the trap of saying Leigh were second bottom (myself included?!) because they ended up in the second relegation place. It's an easy enough mistake to make, although I can understand it being irritating for those who had to endure last season.



However, I can't see Basil changing his comments - "I've taken this team from second bottom to second top" does his rep no harm at all!

I we're all being a little over sensitive about this.

We finished 3rd from bottom and played some complete garbage MOST of the time.

The transformation has been fantastic, not even the most optimistic Leigh fan could have predicted that we would be undefeated after 8 rounds.

Just enjoy this season and forget about last.

What difference does it make? We were not good enough last season. On at least two occasions we managed to not only toss a half-time lead, but end up losing by more than twelve points - thus missing the bonus point that would have made all the end of season 'hand wringing' meaningless!!!

Lets just embrace what is happening this season, and enjoy the ride!!

Leigh did not finish in the bottom two last year , but they were relegated , the rules were set at the start of the season
