Er .....the weather

What was I thinking of, of course I want us to play on a day I can't go.

Well - glass half full - Pies at home Saturday afternoon. Full house on the beeb - or failing that London at home - upset live on BBC......we've done it before!!





Glass half empty: London away with a Sunday tea-time kick-off......smallest crowd in Challenge Cup Quarter final history!!!

Sooooo......how do we think the team who gets us will react? We know we're not world beaters and so do they, but will they be fearful of us in case we cause an upset or will we be the team they all want to play?

Realistically everyone will want us at home.

Another thing to consider: Let's say we do defy the odds and make the semi-final, they will be played w/e 14/15 July (So Dewsbury at home from the Fri night will need to be re-arranged!) - this is the week after the Trains Cup Semi - then we've got York away, and Blackpool the week after that!!



So July would be:



Sun 1st - Batley (away) League

Sun 8th - Batley (home) Trains Cup semi

Sat/Sun 14th/15th - Challenge Cup Semi

Sun 22nd - York (away) League

Sun 29th - Blackpool



Now THAT is a set of games to test our VERY small squad!!

Never mind test the squad, it would severely test anyone's wallet! Don't forget we play Batley in the NRC Quarters though so obviously still need to qualify for the semi.

Sorry, you're right Matt - we play them mid June in the quarters.....I was getting ahead of myself there!! I was discussing with Walt Jnr. (while sat on the car-park this afternoon!) about playing them in the semi a couple of years back - and that must have stuck in my mind while I was typing.....as we play them week before the semis!!



Getting to the CC semi final, and a return to Blackpool would be awesome for the club - but as you say, a nightmare for the finances of the supporters!!!
