Just watched it again on Blip tv and cannot understand why the TRY early in the second half was ruled out by the Touch Judge. Seems it is not just me who makes daft mistakes.

it looked fine to me but I was over 80m away and the vid looks like he touched down, in fact the ref was going to blow for a try when the TJ intervened.

I seem to remember that last night Wayne posted a pic of Deans 'no try' which suggested that he dropped the ball, although how the TJ saw it is beyond me

Well I do not recall seeing the pic but if you fast forward to just before 62 mins on the recording you can see for yourself.



Anyways having watched that part a few times (no Star Trek) I think if I am mistaken the Touch Judge has very good eyesight. Thats not an insult btw because it has made me think he could have been right ah well.

Is it not illegal to ground the ball well before the line. If you get tackled and then slide over then thats ok but to go to ground purposely and then slide over is not. The ball was grounded about a yard before the line so I think thats what it is.

So if grounded before try line and re-promoted on or over try line its a double movement which is a penalty, if a knock on before the line its either a handover or scrum, if grounded before try line its either play on or hand over

yet ref awards a 20m restart which says he thinks 1. knock on over line 2. touch in goal as corner flag goes down 3. if 6th tackle and no grounding = 20m restart

????

OK I am wrong again so that is my career as the Video ref down the pan. Ah well I can live with it and I can resume my current pastime of Hospital visiting.
