Although I rate Higson and wanted him to stay at Leigh, I said at the time,going to Swinton would be a good move for him, as he would get first team rugby every week and play at the same level as Leigh. I felt sure if someone would pick him regularly, he would have a good year and deep down, I hoped he would return to us the year after. Hope this 2 year deal news is true. It will be different for Higson this time, as PR will have signed him. He will be his player and so he will be keen to play him. Welcome back AJ, if the rumours are true. If you sign a player, you must rate them, so that will automatically be better for the lad. Knowing the coach wanted you and values you, is a big plus.

We have the most durable of centres in Littler and Gardener and then we (allegedly) offer an injury hit centre who is out for the season a 2 year deal. Do we ever learn?

Just remind me how long is left this season and I don't think Swinton will make the playoffs. He is only going to miss 4 games, you could miss them with a strain.

Injuries happen to the best of players and he's had more than his fair share.



On the subject of winning playoff games, if this squad qualifies and manages to win one, it will be the most successful since we won the championship in 2004!

I think AJ is a step backwards, we've got two superb centres and Henderson to back them up too.



AJ is a tryer, a good honest player, but not top quality since his bad injury.



Sounds harsh, but that's my opinion.

I agree young Adam gives his all and (if true) I would say welcome back lad. I like to see Leythers playing for Leigh.



I just question the wisdom of re signing Adam. I am all aware that injuries can happen to anyone and at any time but I doubt we are going to have bundles of cash to build a large squad ( espercially given last nights attendance) anyway.



Is it therefore in Leigh's best interests to offer such deals to players that have proven to be more injury prone than others ?



Will there be better players than Adam made available for 2013?



Each will have their own opinion on both.

AJ was on a good contract, too good, and a season at Swinton will have hopefully made him realise the benefits of playing for his hometown.

He was always an enigma for me, he looked like he could be something special but never reached his potential. He is a big lad with decent pace and hopefully he can get a spot and play a full season to show us how good he can be.
