The London game was 3,201 - the interesting stat is that the next home game against Hull FC only got 3,427 with obviously a much bigger from Hull than the Broncos.

And unlikely to rise much until you start to compete with the big lads , which in turn results in less away support to see what they consider a non match



So until you hit 4,000 ave in the Championship and can then hope to pull in another 2,000 when you go up , so 6K , then initially a couple of thousand ave away , giving at least 7/8,000 ave overall allowing you to get close to max SC spend

And both games where the highlights of the season for entertainment value and edge of seat stuff.

We just don't have a big enough pool of fans at the moment. I am not talking about loyal ones that would drive through Iraq if it meant getting to a game either. You will always have fans that turn up as and when or once every Blue moon (

), and they are welcome - eg 4000 turn up out of say 7000 potentially turn up. With that 7000 mostly all turning up for finals or semi's etc. At the minute IMO we have about 3,500 as a pool of fans, and on average just over 2,000 turning up from that with vast majority the Iraq journey kind.

That just about sums it up perfectly , if you look at the Mutants they have the 7,000 and the 4,000 , and those numbers could rise in SL if they are guranteed a spend from the start and all the way through 3 years no matter how they perform

The problem is though, how is anyone in the Championship going to attract more fans to come and watch effectively a season of freindlies.



we have been to 2 grand finals and 1 northern rail cup final in the last 3 seasons and we havent been able to get bigger support infact ours has even gone down a little.



you have won the northern rail cup but can you get those fair whether fans to come every week, which is a problem every team in the championship has.

Crowd figures again? OK, currently 3 SL clubs averages are way below our ave in our only SL season of 4750. Crusaders ave 3438 (4616 in 2010), Quins 3083 (3379 in2010), Salford 4417 (up from 4166 in 2010). IMO shocking but shows that sub 5000 is not necessarily a prob.........you just go bust of course

In 2006 we had same problem when we stuffed biggest club in the world in Blackpoo. Week after no change in the gates considering what a great day it was. We are hoping for better turn out and backing to push us to GF - fingers crossed this will happen this time.

The "season of friendlies" have always been a problem at this level, because the competition is deemed not worthy by a lot of fans with focus always on that FT competition.

We have a great competitive competition as it is. We just need it sold better to the masses, which again has always been a problem even before 2009.

The atmosphere in 2006 doesn't come close to probably half a dozen games at the LSV, never mind Sunday. A real buzz in the past few weeks and long may it continue.
