Certainly? Most successful? How do you define those? We have to qualify for the Middle 8 first and then get into SL and then either avoid the Middle 8 the following year or come through it all over again - that will then exceed our last SL season. Hopefully we will do just that.



As for entire history, well that is going to another level entirely - winning the Challenge Cup or the SL Grand Final, or perhaps even the double in the same year. Certain?

Because if you look back through the thread I hadn't commented on it till Maurice said "For Mish's benefit my third payment will be made as per my promise - Michael has been guaranteed this" so I was responding to that. I have never questioned Neil's commitment to the club, nor would I because he was one of the more honorable at the club.



BTW I refer to them as a gang because that's how I see them and intelligence has nothing to do with it, it's more a pack mentality thing. You might not like it but it's my opinion.



I'd like to offer my sincere thanks and gratitude to every single member of the board who came to the rescue and saved our fine club from going under and I for one won't forget what you did.

that's stretching it a bit Ste , ive seen us win at Wembley in 71 , and Finish top of the old 1st Division in 82 , we haven't surpassed either of those yet , will we do it in the future ?Who knows ?Not even Charlie can answer that

As for our entire history the next 5-10 years will dictate that, however we've never had a better chance.

Who are you saying the 5 are out of interest? I have to say not one of them come across to me as having a pack mentality, just one common goal to make Leigh successful.



I too will be forever grateful for the last round of management team who saved the club however Mish they aren't alone. I'm 36 and I think the clubs been saved at least 6 times now by differnent people. All of whom earn my respect and for the record 2 of the 6 you describe as having a pack mentality have been there a few of those 6 times I reference.



Put to one side your bitterness cause Andy and John are no longer in the main seats. Andy is a Leyther and will still watch all the games does John?

I have watched Leigh since 1956 and I posted early last season this was the best team we have had since I have been watching.



RL has changed a lot in the last 30 years and there were no full time teams in 71 or 82.



Next season will be better than last in terms of intensity and quality of play imo.

The day after we won the GF, I had a text off a good friend from over the hill in Yorkshire he said you know what Ste of all the rugby he had watched that weekend and he'd watched every live TV game we had played the best RL.

John Woods after a few pints and 20 cigs would still run rings round any of this Leigh team as good as they are - The most amazing Rugby League player I have ever seen. There were some fantastic players in those teams - Murphy, Ashcroft, Chisnall, Eckersley, Joe Walsh - Des Drummond, John Woods, Steve Donlan, Ian Potter, Ray Tabern, Mick Hogan.



I know what you mean though Frank but it is only because of full time training. They have got a fantastic squad together and a brilliant team spirit. They will win the league and win promotion at the first attempt in the £1m game.

We will be no where near that million pound game.
