We"ve got the most interesting and exciting season for years coming up.We"ve got a good side playing attractive rugby.The fan base is increasing.we"ve got an owner/majority shareholder who with the help of other board members have put their money into our great club.Who knows what the future holds,lets enjoy the ride and support our team

Do you want to provide something that shows these people/companies did actually put money in, rather than them actually making money out of the deal?

In an ideal world Leigh Centurions would be a world brand and sustainable lets be honest without Derek's investment.



The likelihood of us ever achieving this is slim to zero IMO.



You say Man Utd are an example of a sustainable sports club.



Yes over a decade in a different sporting sphere they have been making profits. I ask how does that look over a 30 year period , you know the answer. Will certainly be interesting over the next 5 years to!!



I'm absolutely delighted that one guy is the majority shareholder, as stated elsewhere we will go places we've not been in over 30 years!



If you want a happy local community club who are self sustainable turn left off the M62 and follow the signs for Spotland.



Whilst your there ask any Hornets fans would they want our ground, our team, our coach and our owner??



And as for what can happen if owners walk away get yourself down to Fratton Park and ask any Pompey fan would they like to be sustainable or would they like to win the FA cup and go belly up for a decade???



Last time I checked we aren't running a business it's a sports club and the 2 don't and never will go hand in hand in 99% of sports clubs!!

While difficult to achieve, it should always be a priority, quite simply because it will increase income

Actually the original discussion was centred on your assertion we are a shoe in for promotion, and that somehow we were shafted by the RFL back in 2008/9/10

Sustainability should be an aim not a priority!



What I said is we are entering an era that will be better than anyhing we've had in 30 years. To be honest you can arguably say last year was better than anyhing we've had in 30 years so in my opinion we are already in that era!!



The fact promotion next season is available can only enhance this era!!

This thread typifies everything thats good and bad about this forum,some good positive support,some alternative views and domination by 2 or 3 who really would be better off sitting together over a drink and having a face to face chat like we did in the good old days.

Anyway I think the new structure will work out ok

Knowing all these people they are all good business men and we have to run as a business not a charity
